I felt better yesterday, but now I'm feeling less better. Maybe it's coz I actually went to uni this morning. That's why I'm not back there right now.

Then again, maybe I couldn't notice I was sick yesterday becasue I ate Butter Menthols in my sleep and then continued to ingest more and more sugar all day.

One thing that I noticed at uni this morning: the only people wearing thongs were people with long pants on. Apparently if you wear tiny shorts you can't show off your feet. It was strange. I shall have to investigate this new fashion rule further.

Anyway, somehow all this crap got dumped in my room, and then Luke chucked out my entire magazine collection, which spans back to when I was 10. That's 11 years of accumulated magazines!!! I had TV Hits and Smash Hits, then I moved on to Dolly and Girlfriend, and then Cleo and Cosmo. And I had mum's old Who magazines from like the 80s until about 2004 when she stopped getting them. And some other random ones.

It's very sad, basically it was a ginormous fire hazard. Now I only have about 3 giant boxes of clippings and posters. Tried to sort through them this arvo - got through about 1/4 of a box in 3 hours. In about 11 years I'll chuck them out. I chuck out other stuff all the time, somehow I just kept the magazines. I loved them. Boo hoo.

Anyway, today in Auslan we made up lies about our families, eg my half brother lives in Hobart.

Also, for some reason the family has gone mad, we were all here at 3.30pm, including dad, and then somehow everyone went for a drink at the tavern... ????

Madelyn: We're going to the tavern!"
Me: Why...
M: Just for a drink!
Me: Mmm.
*very busy cleaning up magazing clippings, family fart-arseing around in the kitchen, getting ready to go*
M: We're going now!
Me: I'm very busy and important!!
M: "I'm very busy and important".. she's not coming! She's putting things in the bin!
Mum: Are you coming?
Me: Where?
Mum: To the tavern!
Me: Why?
Mum: Just for a drink.
Me: Why is Cameron going?
Mum: We're dropping him at choir!
Me: I'm very busy (translation: I'm very bewildered).
*family leave*

Apart from the fact that I was meant to be at uni, of which the whole family is obviously unaware, WHY would anyone apart from dad want to go to Niagara Park for a drink at 4pm on Thursday?? OK, sometimes he takes mum. I'm pretty sure blogging takes priority. It's helping my writing/typing skills. I'll need those for when I'm doing my essays at the last minute on Monday.

OK I actually moved out for like 10 days, so mayhap the family went insane then.

OH yeah, and Mo's fine, he went walkabout for 2 days but now he's back.
16th-Mar-2009 04:04 pm - URTI?
sag

So, I'm a bit worried I didn't see Mo this morning... :( Maybe mum fed them before work and he already had food stashed away wherever he was. Dumb free range pigs.

Also, I went to the doctor and he said "You've got the URTI that's going around, take this script, take it with food or milk. Goodbye."

Goodbye!

What's URTI? Turns out it's upper repiratory tract infection... it's just the flu I think. I googled it.

Anyway I went to West Gosford to get the drugs and Jen said that they make you burn more easily in the sun - so basically now I'm a vampire, if I go out in the sun I'll probably turn to ash.

I only went to the doctor to make sure it was a cold and not a cat allergy.

It's 4.15, so I could still easily make it to uni, as long as I didn't die on the road on the way. Stupid 6pm tutorial.

Luke's making dinner tonight. We've got mince in the fridge, I hope he remembers.

Anyway, last night we started watching The Gruen Transfer on DVD. "Whale meat. It's the beef of the sea."

I'd eat whale.

In recent news:
  • I am now 21
  • I have started learning Auslan at Ourimbah Uni on Thursdays... it hurts my brain a bit, but it's awesome. I want to practice more but I'm afraid I've remembered them wrong and I don't want to practice the wrong signs. It's a dilemma.
  • I have a tutorial 6-8pm Mondays in Newcastle... it's compulsory attendance and I've already missed the first one.. dammit.
  • I have the flu. Either that or I'm allergic to cats... I haven't ruled it out because my Dad's allergic to cats and so is my Mum's sister... although I never got symptoms from Luke's cat, so it is more likely to be the flu. But I can't be sure. I guess if it doesn't go away in like 2 weeks I should consider the allergy option.
  • I'm housesitting for my Dad's friend in Somersby, indefinitely. I think he's working in Melbourne for most of the year or something... he'll be back sporadically. He's got 2 cats.
  • I'm the icecream seller in this year's opera... have yet to decide whether the opera will actually be good...
  • Harriet or Splodgy had 2 babies (the one that didn't have the babies is still pregnant). I really can't tell them apart any more. Mikey is MIA, last seen on Thursday.
  • I'm meant to be at work but I am very ill. So now I will be broke.
  • Thunderstruck is my favourite movie of the month. I've watched it 3.5 times this week. It is very good.
26th-Feb-2009 12:13 pm - What to wear?
Ness 1

Well, today I am planning on finding costumes for myself and Luke, possibly Madelyn and Dad. Ali is coming over after singing to come with me. We also have to buy the wine; Dad is in charge of organising the beer.

Mad is going to man the bar at my 21st, and she's under strict instrustion not to serve anyone who hasn't put their last empty in the bin.

I currently have 5 guinea pigs: Mo (the original), Runt and Harriet (Winni's 2nd lot), Splodgy (Winni's 3rd lot) and Mikey (Winni's 4th lot). Harriet had one lot but all 3 of them disappeared after a few weeks. That was before Winni died. :(

I really don't know what sort of costume to get. I have many brilliant ideas! (The theme is Good vs Evil)
  • Jafar
  • zombie
  • vampire
  • evil queen/stepmother
  • Belinda Neal
Madelyn said I should get a blonde wig and go as Belinda Neal, and I said no-one would know who I was unless I got some pamphlets and handed them out, and she said that was great coz when people asked who I was meant to be I could say "Don't you know who I am??"

Gosh. It's a great plan. Not.

Luke booked tickets to see Chicago for our anniversary this year!! We're in row H.
Last year we went to an hilarious comedy show. The only unfunny part was Claire Hooper. Boo!
The year before that I think we saw Billy Elliot... that was cool.
2006 I don't remember, I think we just went out for dinner.
Hopefully many more to come :D

I really need to start tagging my blog entries. Hope I don't forget.

Anyway I'm off to singing now :D

PS I ate some tomato sauce flavoured chips. They were soooo tasty. I am soooo glad they brought them back. I have had a craving for like 5 years. Now it is satisfied.

Maybe I should buy 100 packets in case they stop making them again.
25th-Feb-2009 01:46 pm - Revival of the Blog?
Ness 1
This year I decided to keep a scrapbook instead of a large diary, because basically last year my diary was the greatest diary the world has ever seen, but my handbag was causing a lot of painh in my shoulder, because for some reason I can't balance it on my left one. Righty gets all the weight. So this year I got a tiny diary, so I could fit it in a small handbag. Unfortunately Luke got me a giant wallet for Christmas, but it's very nice :)

Anyway so I did my scrapbook journal for a few weeks. I don't think I will have the energy to scrapbook every night though. So perhaps a livejournal revival might be a better option.

I wanted a log of the year I was 21. It is going to be awesome. I can use Facebook to tell me what I've been doing!

Anyway, so far this year has been pretty amazing, it's nearly 1/6 gone and uni hasn't started yet, but I have been on holidays to Tea Gardens, Noumea, Mystery Island and Port Vila, buried my lovely guinea pig Winni (and lost a lot of other pigs) and been to three 21sts.

This evening I am auditioning for this year's Central Coast Consrevatorium opera, "Brundibar", for which we got a government grant due to the success of last year's "Amahl and the Night Visitors".

This weekend I am having my 21st up at Wallangarra, and it is going to be wonderful.

1. Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a very personal nature.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed you will ask them 5 questions

Questions from whispered_envy:
1. Looking back on it, what do you now think of your high school?
2. Cats or dogs, and why?
3. What would be your favourite musical ever?
4. What's your ultimate dessert?
5. If you won one million dollars, what would you do with it?

Answers from angry_layson:
1)  Yeah, that place was awesome. What with all the stairs. Just glad I got out of there before they decided it was a fortress and that people would no longer be allowed in/out. Or whatever the meaning of that huge-arse fence is.
2) Dogs, coz they love you always
3) Ummm... well, Pirates of Penzance, but also Guys and Dolls... it's really good.
4) Soft serve with mini marshmallows and chocolate drops, and green jelly.. like you get at pizza hut... mmmmm
5) Buy a house

I'm just passign the time til opera rehearsal now.... 7 more minutes should do it....

Anyway, everyone needs to be at Amahl and the Night Visitors on the 15th November. It will be so hilarious.

ness 2

Hey there, I hope you're doing well
I love this new track ya sent me I got in the mail
I am so sorry that I have taken a few weeks
But you'll never guess what happened to me

The love of my life, I've been seeing for three years
Said it was over, I was boring him tears, so as you can imagine
I've been really in a state with all those mixed emotions that get in the way

Sorry I've been takin so long, to finish this song
You know I was trying to write a hit, till my boyfriend threw me in
HIs stuff still laying around I wanted to burn my whole house down
He said his love would last forever
I guess I thought we'd stay together

Tears keep coming, and I try to write things down
With my tears is anger, I wish I kicked him out
Just look what I've become a huge whining mess
Then I used to be the girl giving advice to the rest

Sorry I've been takin so long to finish this song,
You know I was trying to write a hit, and my boyfriend threw me in
His stuf still laying around I wanted to burn my house down
He said his love would last forever
I guess I thought we'd stay together

So sorry I was takin so long but here's your fucking song
I hope its gonna be a hit, I'm single and loving it
Your stuff still laying around I wanted to burn my whole house down,
He said his love would last forever
I guess I thought we'd stay together

Sorry I've been taken so long to finish this song
Your stuff still laying around I wanted to burn my whole house down

Stay forever who you are

Don’t change a thing

Because you’re perfect

You sway gently in the breeze

In between my dreams

it kind of makes me nervous

You storm is lightning striking down

To only strike me once would still be worth it

In my dreams you were perfect

When I woke up you were perfect

Love as scarring as it is

Tell me is it real

If it aint hurting

I break when the sounding of you fades

My colours bleed to one

Nothing grows when your love is gone

In my dreams you were perfect

When I woke up you were perfect

Even when you run you’re still worth it

Here and now the moment’s perfect

You’re perfect

So perfect

When you run

Baby baby baby baby baby baby baby yeah

Oh run yeah

Even when you’re gone

Even when you’re here

Even when you’re not

You’re still you’re still

You’re still perfect

Good afternoon beloved blog!
It is time for your revival!
Vanessa's new single has been released to the radio stations. I haven't heard it yet.

Oh yeah.
And I'm considering dropping out of uni. It's sucking my life force.
I don't think I want to do it any more.
I just want to get a job and move out.
I don't want to leave my uni friends, but I don't do anything at uni anyway. So I should just go up there to see them when they don't have lectures.
I'm just a lazy person who hates studying. And going to lectures.
I can't take it like the others can. I don't want to.

Grammar Girl's Top 10 Language Myths:

10. A run-on sentence is a really long sentence. Wrong! They can actually be quite short. In a run-on sentence, independent clauses are squished together without the help of punctuation or a conjunction. If you write I am happy I am glad as one sentence without a semicolon, colon, or dash between the two independent clauses, it's a run-on sentence even though it only has six words. (See episode 49 for more details.)

9. You shouldn't start a sentence with the word however. Wrong! It's fine to start a sentence with however so long as you use a comma after it when it means "nevertheless." (See episode 58 for more details.)

8. Irregardless is not a word. Wrong! Irregardless is a word in the same way ain't is a word. They're informal. They're nonstandard. You shouldn't use them if you want to be taken seriously, but they have gained wide enough use to qualify as words. (See
episode 94 for more details.)

7. There is only one way to write the possessive form of a word that ends in s. Wrong! It's a style issue. For example, in the phrase Kansas's statute, you can put just an apostrophe at the end of Kansas or you can put an apostrophe s at the end of Kansas. Both ways are acceptable. (See episode 35 for more details.)

6. Passive voice is always wrong. Wrong! Passive voice is when you don't name the person who's responsible for the action. An example is the sentence "Mistakes were made," because it doesn't say who made the mistakes. If you don't know who is responsible for an action, passive voice can be the best choice. (See episode 46 for more details.)

5. I.e. and e.g. mean the same thing. Wrong! E.g. means "for example," and i.e. means roughly "in other words." You use e.g. to provide a list of incomplete examples, and you use i.e. to provide a complete clarifying list or statement. (See episode 53 for more details.)

4. You use a before words that start with consonants and an before words that start with vowels. Wrong! You use a before words that start with consonant sounds and an before words that start with vowel sounds. So, you'd write that someone has an MBA instead of a MBA, because even though MBA starts with m, which is a consonant, it starts with the sound of the vowel e--MBA. (See episode 47 for more details.)

3. It's incorrect to answer the question "How are you?" with the statement "I'm good." Wrong! Am is a linking verb and linking verbs should be modified by adjectives such as good. Because well can also act as an adjective, it's also fine to answer "I'm well," but some grammarians believe "I'm well" should be used to talk about your health and not your general disposition. (See episode 51 for more details.)

2. You shouldn't split infinitives. Wrong! Nearly all grammarians want to boldly tell you it's OK to split infinitives. An infinitive is a two-word form of a verb. An example is "to tell." In a split infinitive, another word separates the two parts of the verb. "To boldly tell" is a split infinitive because boldly separates to from tell. (See episode 9 for more details.)

And now, the number one grammar myth, which my Twitter friends chose over splitting infinitives [fanfare music]

1. You shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition. Wrong! You shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition when the sentence would mean the same thing if you left off the preposition. That means "Where are you at?" is wrong because "Where are you?" means the same thing. But there are many sentences where the final preposition is part of a phrasal verb or is necessary to keep from making stuffy, stilted sentences: I'm going to throw up, let's kiss and make up, and what are you waiting for are just a few examples.  (See episode 69 for more details.)

I am bored.
Cameron is watching Arrested Development, BORING.
I have a cold and it's boring. I didn't go to the beach with Amy, didn't go to work, didn't go to see the Mariners play the Jets with Sarah in Newie, and I didn't go to soccer tonight :(
I did, however, go to tutoring twice, even though my brain is fuzzy. Not a good plan. Oh well.
So, Luke's parents are officially divorced now, but they still can't sell the house. And their dog pees on the carpet every 5 seconds coz it's a dirty little fat untrained rat-dog that eats icecream and white buttered bread for dinner. When I move out of home I'm getting a real dog.
Anyway. Uni's lame, only passed one of my courses. Couldn't be bothered.
Anyway now Cameron's watching some Christmas movie so I guess I'll watch it.

I actually do like maths. Just not lectures. And stupid exercises that don't make sense. And going to uni just for one lecture.

I'm liking Game Theory at the moment. If I can scrape through the exam on Game Theory and Coding Theory and ignore Multiparameter Bifurcation Theory, that'll be good.
I think I actually would get Bifurcation if we didn't have Eugene. Somehow I got 14 marks in the test without doing any of it. I was in there for 5 minutes, doodling on the paper. I think he makes up numbers for marks. And he probably marks the same way he lectures: with his eyes closed.

So, Uncle Jem's kids are from now on to be referred to as "Fresh Prince" and "McGonagall".
That is all.
Even though I haven't met McGonagall yet. And soon Fresh Prince will be too old to be called Wim-Wim.

I think I need this time to whinge about maths lectures. Please ignore, coz it's me being a whinger.

I am so aware that the only reason I passed first year maths was because of tutorials. And I actually got distinctions then as well. Which is indisputable evidence that you don't need to understand much of the courses to get distinctions. But then you go on to second year maths. And I actually understand about 1% and hence have so far failed all my maths courses this year. 2 so far, soon to be 5.

I didn't get to go to the maths teachers' lunch coz of my arse but apparently it was just Malcolm arguing with all the other maths lecturers especially Rohan who is, according to Sarah M, an "angry angry man".

I actually do like Rohan, he tries so hard and he's actually better than most of the other maths lecturers at trying to get through to the learners, but his notes make absolutely no sense at all. I know he stays up every night doing the most perfect lecture notes he possibly can but the fact remains that they ARE NOT HELPFUL. A typical lecture goes like this: "x=p+23 from proposition 12, and p is q inverse from corrolary 9, but lemma 24 suggests that blah blah" - by which time all brains are switched off. WHY does he remember every single lemma by its number and never tell us what it actually is???

Basically in lectures, I sit there and go, mmm. Then he does a proof, and I understand the middle bit, but not the beginning or the end, coz they're always dependent on some random theorem or proposition. And not the rest of the lecture.
Hence I do not go to lectures much. Because I want to cry every time I'm there.

Pru wants to drop out so bad. Sarah P just drops all the maths courses and says she'll do them later. Sarah M works her arse off at home and does all the assignments and goes to see the lecturers and scrapes through. I just want it to be over. I don't understand ANYTHING we've done in Linear Algebra, even though it was my favourite topic in first year and I totally got it. Now it's turned into gobbledegook and I don't know what to do. It's the most pointless, most frustrating thing ever. And there are people like Josh who should be teachers already who can't pass Topics because it's a BMath course that no-one else does. Just us and them. This semester is his 4th attempt. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE that someone can try so hard 4 times and still not be able to scrape a pass, just so he can go and teach high school kids how to use Pythagoras' Theorem. It's so unfair.

Pru didn't do the last assignment and Sarah M didn't do the midsemester, Sarah P dropped ages ago, we all just struggle through the whole course and then hope to scrape by in the final exam. Which Pru manages to do somehow, even though she has to work so much, but i can't.

And they've taken away our only support system with the fucking honesty module shit which means no collaboration between peers. It's fucked in the head.

Anyway I was going to go to uni today and hand in my assignment, but I haven't done it, and I've missed the train and I don't think I can drive on the freeway yet. Also it was my sister's 18th yesterday, and also her last day of school.

And not to mention I haven't slept in about 2 weeks coz every time I move in my sleep I wake up. >:'(

Oh yeah, and my Vanessa tickets got refunded. The tour's been cancelled.

Have a nice life.

ow my bum, ow my bum.
I wish it would just go away.
I was going to do see a doctor this morning, but the parentals decided against it coz it is getting better. eg I can bend down now. But sitting and sleeping are still issues.
Anyway now I'm not even going paintballing with Ali which I really wanted to do!!!!!! Stupid arse.
And I didn't see Evan Almighty with her either. And I've missed a whole week of uni so my uni friends think I hate them too.
I don't understand how I can fall down every day forever and then this one time it does something to my tailbone. Lame.
Anyway so that's that. It's been 6 days. Of the lamest days ever.

So, my results from last semester look something like this:

C UP WW FF

So many letters! Awesome.

Guess which one goes with which course!!!

That's right, I blitzed educ by doing nothing (ie credit and ungraded pass)

Failed/withdrew from maths

But! This semester I will gain more than 20 units!!

Hopefully.
I only have one educ subject this semester. And it's the General syllabus, which I am unfamiliar with. But oh well. We are having weekly Wednesday night piss-ups at Pru's where we drink red wine and do our weekly lesson plans. Last week we got 6/6. Jolly excellent.

But software is cool, think I'll pass that, Topics might scrape through, coz we do one topic at a time (did coding theory test today, it was lame, but i might've passed), and linear algebra.. well, that's just lame.

Pru and Sarah M are not doing Topics, Sarah P hasn't done algebra and geometry, and Sarah M is the only one of us who actually made it to the end of Analysis, the course of doom. So we're all pretty much even, except Sarah M who is in fact slightly ahead, because she would actually rather do work than just drop out.

Anyway, Pru went to see Rohan today coz she never did the linear alg assignment, and the she came back an hour later, by which time Sarah P and I had turned her pencilcase inside out, written her name in post-its on a piece of paper, and written a letter to her from Rohan detailing how good it was to see her etc. Turns out she just went and talked to Malcolm for the whole time coz Rohan wasn't there, but then we saw him in the union getting some chips.
Maths lecturers are funny.

We won soccer tonight by heaps, but everyone fell over.

The mariners are so lame right now. Losers. What a let-down.
Let's pick up the game boys!! Luckily it's only pre-season.

KISS YOUR MAMA will be on the radio in TWO DAYS.
In other news... not much.
Cut my finger pretty bad on a tin of soup. Stupid can opener didn't work so after 20mins I tried to pull the top of with my hand.. bad plan.
Made a fort in the backyard with old peices of fence.. 'twas so awesome. Then dad pulled it down coz he's making a bar out of the wood.
Failed calculus, obviously. Sarah got 51 and I hate her stinking guts! :p not really.
Mathematical software is awesome. My favourite course.
Going to Luke's Grandma's funeral tomorrow. :(

Oh yeah, and we won soccer against a team that had only one girl!! 5-2!! So we're the ultimate champions.

Ohhhh I am so tired. Stupid 8am uni. Catching the 5.53 from Gosfrd. Fun times. Actually, that train was a lot better than I expected. For some inexplicable reason.
Actually Thursdays, we have decided, are the most boring and pointless day. Teach & Learn in Maths 2 for THREE HOURS. At EIGHT AM. And actually today we were PUNISHED for going to the lecture on Tuesday: "Anyone who went to the lecture, you can go and read Chapter 3 and discuss the main points and present to the class at the end. Everyone else, I will go through the QTM with you."
It was OK coz we just mucked around discussing pracs and which schools were the best and who could lower their little fingers without their ring fingers bending (I recently discovered that I could not do this. Unless I held my little finger down with my other hand.
I learnt this because I was talking to Luke and for some reason I was counting, eg "One, blah blah, two, blah bladi blah" etc. I started with my thumb and then when I got to 4 instead of putting up my ring finger I put down my thumb and held all my fingers up. Unconciously, of course. Then Luke thought I was a freak coz I couldn't move my little finger without the ring finger moving. So I tested my family, and they could all do it, but then! Dad got home! And I stayed awake waiting for him! And he can't do it either!! Therefore I am not a freak!!!). (PS if you're reading this, you should test it out! Can you do it? Dad and I have spent our whole lives not noticing our handicap! Have you?)
Anyway, so basically we didn't read the chapter, had a half-arsed discussion about taxonomies (we had to coz the post-graduate Dip Eds were there), and sat there bored for 2 hours trying to talk quietly while the people who skipped the lecture were given a doubley as long lecture about QTM, which we had AN ENTIRE COURSE ON last year, so if we weren't stuck with the stupid Dip Eds we wouldn't have to worry about it. Because we're all experts. And then we had to watch some stupid DNA science lesson and evaluate it using the model, but in AN HOUR we only got through the first dimension becasue of lame Dip Eds who love to talk and talk about nothing. Sarah and I played boxes.

THEN we had SOFTWARE LECTURE, and excuse me, but has anyone ever heard of anything more stupid??? Just get in the computer lab and COPY OFF THE SHEET. Obviously we left halfway through.

But anyway, the other day, i think Tuesday, on the train, I was just sitting there on the train reading a book and then Pete the Guy From the Train who I saw at the Beachie lurking around all by himself "celebrating his birthday" 2 weeks ago flipped over the seat in front of me and sat there and started talking to me, and then he was all like "What are you reading?" So I showed him the cover and he was like "Oh! A novel! I thought you were reading an educational book for your lectures" And I was like, yeah, heaps of textbooks come in this shape and colour (purple) and I read them without a highlighter. Not. Especially coz I actually do maths. But anyway, then he was like:
"I would've thought you'd be reading the new Harry Potter book then"
This was the guy who tried to get me and this girl Sarah G who I used to work with, who I randomly bumped into at the station, to join his money-pyramid scheme or something of that nature last time he saw me (and Sarah since unfortunately for her I was talking to her at the time).
Oh yeah, and every time he talks to me somehow he manages to mention some random dude who was cracking onto him/couldn't stop touching him/has got the hots for him. Therefore, he is strange and either petrified of, or loves, random male contact.
And he talks to everyone; case in point the time when Amy was talking about a weird guy who talked to her on the train, and it turned out to be Pete.

Then luckily when we got to uni Cameron B ran into me, so I was saved. And he's just started this semester a music teaching degree, so he's going to borrow my textbooks and such, and he also starts at 8am on thursdays (best news ever!!) so hopefully there might be some sort of carpooling arrangement sorted out soon. (I went home and found him on myspace that afternoon.)

Anyway, so then on Wednesday I went and tutored Kareice, I think it's spelt something like that, anyway, basically she really really didn't need any help from me, because all her homework was plotting points on a cartesian plane to make a picture of Lisa Simpson, and it was soooooo boring. I did nothing, just sat there. Which was weird coz Karen (her mum, who I used to work with) only calls me if she needs help, and she didn't. But oh well. Money for me! Then I spent it on lollies at uni to help us stay awake in software, but it didn't work.

I guess I miss blogging! All the random lame crap that comes out onto the keyboard!!! From deep within my reflective soul.

Amorosi ready to rock
July 09, 2007 12:00am

MELBOURNE girl Vanessa Amorosi will launch her chart comeback with a bold new sound to complement her reinvented rock chick look next month.
Her first single in more than five years, Kiss Your Mama, shows off the powerful pipes which propelled the talented teen on to the world stage with the pop anthems Absolutely Everybody and Shine in 2000.
"I now love that track," Amorosi said.
"That track to me is something that was such hard work.
"So much blood, sweat and tears went into getting that to work that now I have such an appreciation for it."
Amorosi has been writing and recording in Los Angeles for the past year with hitmakers who have worked with Pink and Avril Lavigne.
Her return to the music scene is perfectly timed with other big soul-voice artists including Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone proving popular.
Amorosi has maintained a low profile in recent years, still performing occasional gigs here and in Germany.
She split with the management team of Australian Idol judge Mark Holden and Jack Strom after seven years to sign with Ralph Carr.
Carr has also helped steer Kate Ceberano back into the charts.
Amorosi, 25, delivered a show-stopping performance of I Am Woman to induct Helen Reddy to the ARIA Hall of Fame last year, and drew raves for her performance at the Byron Bay Bluesfest at Easter.
She said carving her new sound has been hard work, particularly on Kiss Your Mama, a 13-second  sample of which is streaming on her MySpace page.
Kiss Your Mama will hit the airwaves on August 3 and is released on September 15.

Anyway, so I went to the Beachie with Ali last night, and it was pretty good. Then we were going to walk home but this empty bus was just sitting out the front so we got on, then we got a pizza and garlic bread, and we rand Domino's from their own phones and then hung up hahahaha. And they thought it was a customer. But anyway. And I saw my uni buddy Sarah (M) there coz she was at a 21st there, and also the guy from the train who talks to everyone, apparently it's his 25th on Tuesday and he was celebrating, but he was hanging around all alone with no friends so maybe not.
Anyway, and Luke's party on Wed was good except for when he wouldn't take Mat outside even though i asked him to, and then Mat threw up everywhere. Then Ali, Loz and I all slept in Josh's bed. From about 6am til 8.30am.
And Mel passed out and then woke up again, and Maisey helped himself to a few cocksucking cowboys, and then Michael drove around Kincumber with Karl on the hood of his car (neither of them had been drinking so don't worry! don't worry faithful readers! we are responsible! :p) because Michael had Karl's shoe.
Anyway, so yeah I'm not going to be in Our Town coz it's first week back at uni and I have my exam, but I'm probably going to watch on Wednesday, maybe, if I ever buy tickets. Except I don't actually know when my exam is yet.

So! I actually went to Calculus today.
Think I'll be withdrawing from Analysis tomorrow. Pru, Sarah and Bobbie already have, and Jodie refused to do it in the first place, so now it's just Steve and Sarah M representing the teachers.

Anyway! I locked my keys in the car the other day. Just left them in the ignition. So I just pulled down the window and unlocked the car. Fortunately I was just in the supermarket for 10 mins and not parked somewhere all day. Lucky I hadn't yet fixed the window. Lucky no-one took my car, with its excellent radio (HA!).

Anyway! So I met my teacher yesterday, and he's realy nice and not even short like Josh told me, but he is on crutches because of a soccer injury last week. He said he won't give me his year 9 class because they have behavioural problems, so that's awesome! He could so easily make me teach them, but he's not. I got the year 7 and year 10 textbooks and what chapters I'll be doing etc, and the welfare policy book etc. And his (ie my) timetable.

Heard no-one went to Chris Lee's birthday laser challenge :( I should've gone but I really was so tired. But it's nothing against him that everyone pulled out at the last minute. Our whole group has a habit of constantly doing that. It's difficult to get people together now. And if soccer falls apart that'll be so sad. Apparently no-one can play next semester.

Anyway, I'm reading Harry Potter 6, coz i just finished 5 and it wasn't as utterly lame as it was last time I read it. It's still not as awesome as the preceding books though.

Luke's dad gave me a key to their house yesterday. I don't know why. I didn't ask for one. Actually he gave me Josh's key, but then he found another spare one and gave that to Josh. Maybe it's so they don't have to get up and open the door when I go there, coz they always keep it locked.

Yo!
So anyway,
You should go and see it, but I thought it was lame. Don't see it for the storyline, that's for sure.

Saw Dave at the end in the box thing up the top where the movie comes from.

Anyway, so I got onto my supervising teacher for the prac today, apparently he's young, which is good coz he'll know what it's like to be a student and he'll remember all theories of learning and stuff. It's awesome. I've been trying to get onto him all week and I did this morning. I rang the school at recess and the office lady was like, "I think he's on class right now". Fool. Of course he was not, becasue it was recess. Anyway, so I'm meeting him on Monday :D

Also I think my exams are going to be first week back at uni, which is so awesome.

Also I've just taken 6 days off uni in a row for no reason. But then again, that's only 6 lectures, which is like 1 or 2 of anyone else's days at uni. So it's not that bad. I have missed pretty much every analysis lecture since the mid-semester in which I got 25% though. But everyone except Sarah M has dropped out of it already, so it's not really important.
Basically I can't be bothered with anything except my placement.
Anyway, going to Ali's tonight, going to be awesome.

Went to Kate's for movie night tonight, was pretty good. We watched Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which was OK. I'd seen it before and Cameron has it on DVD but I haven't watched it except for at the movies, so it was pretty good.
I'm pretty sure Luke enjoyed himself even though he whinged for hours before we went about how much he didn't want to go, and he was missing out on Brownie's drinking party, and he hates movie nights with a passion, etc etc. I told him not to come but he still did and he had a good time with the boys telling jokes, admiring Nich's car etc. And he even said he liked the movie!!! Weird. Anyway, it was a good night. It was weird to be on the "couples" side of the room :s but then Kate's group was always the most coupley group. It freaks me out a little bit.
Anyway, now I can't sleep. Luke's asleep in my bed so i couldn't get up and turn o the light and read my educ textbook which is BOOORING anyway, so I just came out here. I couldn't find my highlighter in the dark so there's no point in reading it. What would be the point! No-one would know that I had read it!!!
Anyway, Luke mumbled something about fundraising when I left so I'm pretty sure he won't wake up. He said "You can't do it all the time!" And I was like, "what?" and he was like "Fundraising! Raising funds!" It was quite ridiculous.
I think it's because my siblings and Keiren and Rachel are going to Canada for Sing and they need to make money. We're doing chocolates and sausage sizzles etc. I don't know anything baout it really, because as my mum says, I'm in my own little world. I never know what's going on. But really! How do people find out things! Maybe I just don't ask questions. It's a vicious cycle, because I never have anything to say to people since I really don't know anything about them, because I don't ask them.
Anyway, I haven't even cleaned my room yet (it's been a work in progress all holidays), so of course I haven't looked at any analysis notes or done any lesson plans. Or got a job. Stupid newsagents didn't have any application forms left so they told me to apply online. Then I also took my resume in just to be sure. But still nothing. And nothing from Coles.
My Grandma's taking me to my 6th Ps test on Tuesday, let's hope it's the last one. I'm really getting sick of stupid driving tests now. It's actually making me want to break as many road rules as possible if I ever finally get my licence.
Anyway, now I'm putting my Revenge of Schoolies photos on Facebook, coz I'm bored.
Anyway, I totally had some more blog-type rambling thing to type on here, much unlike what I usually write, but then I forgot. Some sort of random observation that most people use their blogs for. oh well, it's gone now.
On Wednesday I went to Ella's, and we played Monopoly and trivial pursuit and poker, and I didn't win anything. Brad came home from work for lunch but we had to go and get Isaac from the station so he just went back to work. Then we had sausages for lunch. They've got a new couch which cost $3000, it's really nice. Brad reckons he got it for half price. The other guy who lives there is in QLD for 6 weeks, so Ella's turned his room into a study, and when he comes back they're kicking him out coz he doesn't pay rent anyway. Even though Ella doesn't pay rent either, since she has no job. But, Ella lives in Armidale most of the time anyway, so I don't reckon Brad'll really kick out Liam, coz if I was him I'd be lonely living all alone.
Photos take a long long time to upload.
I think I'll make a new car CD for Luke since he doesn't like the last one I made. I accidentally put on Casey Donovan, Anastacia, Jamie Cullum, MDP, Joss Stone, NSync and SingNSW.
But! It did have Along the Road to Gundagai on it!
Anyway. Brownie and Matt Wasson showed up at my house the other night and fixed the internet so we have it on both computers. Luke and I were going to go to Indian at West Gos for our hot date but then we drove Brownie home and went to the one at Kincumber instead. Which worked out well anyway :D
It's just weird that Brownie never shows up when he is invited, but he randomly showed up on Tues. Weird but cool. Apparently they just got off the train at Gosfrd and they were sick of Luke ringing them to ask how to do that thing where you make the internet on here. :D
Anyway!
I don't really know what facebook is but I like it more than MySpace. Probly coz I've already got more friends on there! Actual people, too, not weirdos with weird screen names.

Anyway. I meant to comment on many a thing on here, but i just don't. I'm much too busy not doing homework and assignments. But now! It is the holidays! So, much of the same.

Anyway, so if you haven't seen me for a while, I've so far failed my Ps 4 times, thrice at gosfrd and once at erina. I only hate the way the testing people like to tell me how good I am at driving. DON'T SAY IT, MORONS! IT IS EVIDENTLY NOT A FACT! That's annoying.

I like the way Luke gets so angry when I fail, but at them instead of me. He's so angry! He shouts! "ONE LITTLE THING, THAT WOULD NEVER EVER HAPPEN EVER TO ANYONE ELSE!!!!" I tell him not to exaggerate, for example, what of the time when I was on 100%!!!! But then I turned too early, because I saw a bus? (3rd go). Then after that I almost didn't stop at a pedestrian crossing, but hey, I'd already failed. Surely my fault. Also! Running through an orange light too late because I slowed down to stop at the orange light and then SPED UP AGAIN BECASUE I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO STOP A TINY BIT OVER THE LINE?!!? (first go.) Also my fault. And then the other time I did not notice the school zone and I was doing nearly 50, at 9.26!!! (4th time.) 4 mins off. All my fault! So many things will go wrong!

And we will not speak of the second time, in which I got 3 automatic fails and a score less than 90. The only time I got a low score. I felt like a fool for even trying. But why attempt to justify myself? At least no-one can say i haven't tried now.

You know, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again (that's 3). Then give up, no use being a fool about it. But I went 4 times! What a fool.

I always think of when Mel got her Ps, and then she came to school, and Lauren said when everyone goes for their Ps they should not tell anyone they were going, and that way they would get it.

And now no-one will ever want to drive with me (my friend Sarah M already told me this). Even though I am so much better than my dad! He doesn't even indicate! He drives in 2 lanes at once! He doesn't stop at orange lights! No wonder I am such a failure!

Although, I read in my Classroom management textbook that that sort of negative thinking will cause breakdowns and TEACHER BURNOUT. I must learn to treat myself as I would someone else! Thanks stupid textbook, which I read on the day of the exam last week on the train, with the help of my trusty yellow highlighter. Lucky i couldn't drive, hey.

Anyway, so I had the greatest birthday, thanks everyone for playing laser tag with me and coming out to dinner and especially thanks to Karl & Ali & Kristel (is that how you spell it? anyway) for hanging around all afternoon.
Since then I have seen a bird fall dead out of a tree and be carried away by a magpie, and been offered a joint by some guy at Hamilton station while attempting to catch the 9.12pm train home.
Also, uni is boring.

Oww! My nose really hurts from where that guy elbowed me at soccer. But we won so it's OK. It's also OK if we lose. But anyway.

Anyway! Today I got a lift to uni with Alison, but then we had to wait for Sarah and Nicole, and they were late coz Sarah slept in, and therefore we were in so much traffic, and then we couldn't get a park, even though Bron said there were parks, and we got one at like 9.25, and then it wasn't even in the uni, even though we already bought a ticket, and then I couldn't be bothered walking all the way to the science theatre for my lecture, so I just went home. Ali was going to wag her OT class, but actually they were all waiting for her so she went.

Then I ran into Mel on the way to the station :) and she had the same problem and parked way away. Then went and did work for her tutes instead of going to her lecture. Seems like the done thing.

Anyway, I was considering going back for the night lecture, but I decided I couldn't be bothered. Don't want to face the mozzies again.

Also, Luke took my singing folder home sometime coz he wanted to learn how to play Ave Maria, and forgot to bring it back, so then his dad had to fax my music to my mum and then I went to her work and got it and then she dropped me at singing in her lunch break.

Last night Ali and I decided to get drunk and play games, and then since I was already playing Rummikub with Luke, he was invited too, and it turned into Singstar. Somehow the three of us drank:
6 x Orange UDLs
4 x Apple Absolut Cuts
6 x Bottles of VB
3 x Lemon Ruski Blacks
3 x Green Cruiser Blacks
4 x Blood Orange Smirnoff Twists
1 x Bottle of wine
I don't know how many standards that is, but probably a lot. Actually a lot. We played Rummikub and poker and Singstar.
My mum went out with some friends in a taxi and my dad was having a piss-up at dog trap road with his friends, so it was just us and my siblings and Hugh & Emily from across the road, but then they all went back to their empty house to have a non-drunken underage party.
Luke ran around my whole house about 10 times, then vomited and wet to bed, Ali & I watched the Wonderful World of Sex and Orange County.
Twas great.

It's really hot today.

So anyway, got home from uni at 11.46pm last night. 'Twas tremendous fun.
Started at 5pm for a 1 hour lecture, in the Hunter building, then me and my two maths teacher buddies who didn't go to the morning lecture had to leave early and run to the science theatre, which is next to the great hall. Then we did some differential equations until 8pm, then Sarah and I walked to her car and she gave me a lift to the station. Then I figured out what trains to get, the 8.25 from Warabrook, and then the 9.12 from Hamilton to get me to Narara at 10.35, fine. Except! Turns out NIGHT TRACKWORK from 9pm to 2am! Starting yesterday! Woopedidoodah! The last train to central left at 8.15. Excellent. And the next bus to Wyong was at 9.40. Hurrah! As a result, I was stranded in Hamilton for an hour, and also I was so so hungry. Then I figured out that the gourmet pizza shop across the road from the bus stop was open, so I went and got a pizza, and then I ate some and then I put the rest in my handy dandy bag when the bus came. And of course the bus had to detour to every station on the way home, and so we got to Wyong at 11.33.
So anyway, tonight I'll just leave Sarah to do the maths and run for the last train. If it was winter I would've died.

Anyway, so that's what I did last night. Luckily I didn't have to get up early today, start at 4 again But I have singing at 1. I think. Hopefully it's 1. That's what time I'm going :p

Morning bloggy. Haven't visited you for a while. (Hi Mel!)
Anyway, Mel brought to my attention that I never blog any more, so this is for her. Surprise!

So, I was going to audition for the uni's chamber choir, but they rehearse from 5-7pm on Wednesdays, and guess what! I have lectures from 4-8pm! Hooray! :( I'm really disappointed now.

I can't remember the last time I updated this blog, but in case I haven't already whinged enough, I lost my job and have yet to get a new one.

Then we went on Schoolies 2: Revenge of Schoolies, which was awesome. Our houses from last year got knocked down and now both of them are one giant construction site, but the house we got for this year was really good. And we played Singstar and Nintendo Wii (Alison especially likes tennis and I can't figure out how to work the controls), and the houses on either side of us were empty for the majority of the week, which was good. On the first night Krystle, Ali and I stayed up to watch the sun rise on the beach, but it was cloudy again so it was such a letdown. Then we went to bed at 7.30. Then on Tuesday Luke, Alison & I went to town and Ali & I got piercings in our earlobes (one each) above our original holes. Mine's in my left ear and hers in in the right, I think, don't kill me if I'm wrong. Then on Wednesday some people went rockclimbing and Ali, Loz, Krystle and I got the top of our ears pierced (mine's on the left again). Steph came too but she didn't get a piercing. Actually maybe that wasn't Wednesday. Actually I'm a little bit making up what days everything happened on. But anyway. I know one day Amy and Ali and I went to "One Mile Beach", only it wasn't One Mile Beach and we didn't meet everyone else there, coz we were at the wrong beach, but we ate some awesome chips and went for a swim anyway. Anyway, then another day Amy and Krystle went to get their ears pierced up the top (Krystle got a second one next to her first one). But Amy's taken hers out now, and I don't know if Lauren had to take hers out actually, coz she had to go to work straight after we got it done.
And also, Lauren got her nipple pierced just over a week ago. Coz she has nipples of steel, as we found out on that night when Krystle drank nearly a whole bottle of Southern Comfort and then couldn't remember that Lauren talked about her nipples all night. Twas fun. Actually I went to bed on that night, but then i couldn't sleep, and then drunken Lauren and Krystle came down and got me, and ALison went to bed but I went back upstairs with them, to the massive deck where we played bocce all week, the good bocce where you roll the ball. And not weird French bocce that Luke made me play with his workmate's French partner and his weird French-Canadian friend and I didn't know how to play, and I also don't speak French, so it took me quite a while to figure out what was going on. But anyway.
And we ate like 12L of icecream over the week. Tasty.
And Maisey fell asleep in front of the TV every single night practically, so we tried to draw on his face but the highlighters wouldn't work and we didn't want to use permanent marker, so we put tomato sauce, sorry I mean ketchup from Hungry Jack's that we stole on the way, we put that on his face but then he woke up, and then Krystle put the remaining ketchup from the packet in Ali's drink, coz there wasn't enough juice to fill it up, not that the sauce helped that.
Anyway, Rowan had this bedroom that was actually the walkway between the kitchen and the room where the Singstar was, and he kept telling us that he was going to bed and not to walk through there, but every time I accidentally forgot and walked through there, he wasn't in there. Also, he took all our Singstar discs and then told us that he found them in Steph's room because she took them, and I was like "why would Steph do that? She likes Singstar!" and also it was 8.30pm, so no-one was trying to sleep. And also I can see why everyone hated Singstar because we did play it practically every waking hour and every sleeping hour.
On Thursday night we went to karaoke and we found Matt Asimus and Leah, and Ali & I sang Doo Wah Diddy (badly) and Mel and Maisey sang I Got You Babe, which was actually alright. Better than Maisey's Singstar attempts anyway :p Then some of the boys sang Piano Man.
And we went dune boarding, or sand duning or whatever it's called, and it was cool. The guy got the bus with the Americans in it bogged in the sand and we helped push them out.
It was quite an awesome week.
Then on that day that it was raining, i went for my Ps, but I ran an orange(/red) light, so that's that. I wasn't going to tell anyone I was going, coz that was the plan way back from when everyone else got their Ps. I remember when Mel got hers, I don't know why. Probly coz we were specualting why she wasn't at school in the morning. Anyway, but then Luke basically told everyone, so that was annoying. But Oh Well.

Then Luke and I went off to the Blue Mountains, and we stayed in Blackheath, then we went to see the Explorers' Tree, which was lame, and we went to Katoomba and went on the scenic railway, and that cable thing, and we went bushwalking and saw old mines and whatnot, and then we went on the scenic skyway, and then we went to the revolving restaurant, but we didn't know it was revolving, until I realised the floor was moving. We also went to Leura and shopping in Katoomba, which nobody warned us an\bout not doing, and so I saw a woman naked from the ribs down (coz that's where she was lifting her dress up to, I DON'T KNOW WHY) peeing on the footpath, which basically was not very nice. All I can say is thank god we were driving past and I wasn't walking past her. Or shopping in one of the shops across the road from her. I don't know why she was peeing right there on the main footpath where people go shopping, but there you go. I told my mum and she said "I'm not surprised if you were in Katoomba" and I said "THANKS FOR WARNING ME." But anwyay. We also went shopping in Blackheath. But we didn't buy things, coz I have no job. Also we went to Lithgow and met Luke's mum at McDonald's there. Also, on the day we went to scenic world, that was Valentine's day, so I stashed Luke's jumbo card in my suitcase, and then I gave it to him in the morning, and he didn't get me anything so he bought me a necklace with an opal in it, which is way better than my jumbo card, but my jumbo card took a lot of time and effort :p I'm just really proud of my jumbo card! I took a photo of it before I wrote on it, maybe I'll put it on here. But maybe I couldn't be bothered. And there was much card playing and TV watching and cooking mmm bacon and eggs. Also much nudity (sorry Mel. I know you think people should be fully clothed at all times. But it was just the two of us).

Anyway, yesterday was the first day back at uni, woopedidoo. Today I start at 5pm. Woopedidoo! Late night trains! Finish at 8 today and tomorrow. Hurrah! Better than getting up early though. Getting up early and then having a 6 hour gap between lectures.

Anyway! Everyone from Newcastle email me your timetables!!! Yay!!! If you want.

Ohhh well I'm behind in the blogging and I really have no idea what I've been doing. Must be something though coz I never have time to do anything. Probably just shopping, reading & going to Luke's, and working.

Anyway, so any day not accounted for, that is what I was doing.
Does anyone else use their blog to recount their whole boring lives? No. But do I have any abstract musings to fill a blog with? No. So therefore I recount.

Hey Krystle!! Stop reading this!! I won't be able to talk to you ever again! When I see you, you'll have to tell me all about your whole life since I saw you last. OK!! See you tonight? We're going to win!!! PS keep reading :p

Well, on Saturday after work I went home and got all dressed up for Luke's cocktail party, and then mum drove me to Luke's and Mat was already there and so were the pharmacy buddies Ryan, James and Lauren. So we had a shot, and James played the guitar, and then Carly and her boyfriend Danny got there. Then we had vodka lemon lime & bitters, then Danny went and bought some beer. Anyway, eventually everyone arrived, I can't remember the order from there. Luke's friends from work Vanessa, Elise, Justeen, Jaqui, Kurt, Trent and Claire, Jennifer and Christian were there, and Maisey, Mel, Krystle, Karl, Amy, April, Amy Boyle & Sarah, Dave, Steph, Ella & Brad, Hayley and DW were there. Mikaela and Michael said they were coming but never did. Anyway, there was much drinking, and all the sydney uni people were making their own, and Josh's friend Amelia was making some too, so I just got her to make all mine, Mel, Krystle's and DW's. Mel, Krystle and I had mudslides and they were really bad. We had Appletinis, and I made Maisey a mocktail coz the people in the kitchen were like "NO MOCKTAILS!!!", even though we bought bananas especially for the mocktails. Anyway. And then we basically just started drinking anything. Mel got a drink, and then she wanted more vodka in it, so I got 2 more shots and then she didn't like it so she swapped me my tasty cranberry drink for her vodka-y pineapple thing, so i just went and got another one. And Krystle was trying to stop Mel drinking, but it turns out sher was the one that threw up at least twice, and then fell asleep on Luke's bed, and then vomited again in the morning. Anyway. There's always one vomiter at every party, just glad it's never been me. And Krystle was very discreet. At least she didn't fall asleep on the lounge where everyone wanted to sit, like Trent did, and then got up at 7.30 and ran home.
Anyway, all Luke's uni friends went to Largo at about 11.30, and Josh Walsh came to pick them up, and Ryan and I ordered a pizza and so I was watching for the pizza and therefore I thought he was the pizza guy and then he parked in the driveway and he didn't get out of the car, so I went to investigate and it was him, and he was driving Danny's car, so i went inside and got Danny but he didn't come out for about half an hour, so Josh and I had a nice chat, and he just had 4 teeth pulled, and he thought I was trashed but I wasn't. I was just waiting for pizza. I guess it makes sense that he would think that though. I was tipsy and he doesn't know me really :D
Anyway, so Ryan and I got our secret pizza eventually, except then we couldn't eat it secretly coz Josh was there and then Danny and Carly and everyone came out to go to Largo, so Luke found out about the secret pizza, so i swapped him a bit for a bottle of V, he reckons he said "I'll swap you for SOME V", but I reckon he said "I'll swap you for this V", so anyway, he wnated it back and I had barely drunk any so I skulled most of the bottle.
Then Trent and Kurt went for a swim in their boxers, and April held Amy's baby for like an hour, and then Dave and Steph left coz they got bored.
Anyway, Ryan, James & Lauren got back from Largo at like 1.30, they were there for like an hour, but anyway. They all slept over and so did Karl, Krystle, Mel and Mat and DW, and Trent was asleep on the lounge.

Anyway I have to go and make my dad watch this movie I got him for his birthday, coz I spread out all the Christmas presents on the floor and there was one for everyone except him. he just got home.
Blog later! Coz on Sunday we did stuff. Bye!
